Dear Rose, I am sorry for your loss. John was truly a kind soul. He went out of his way to pick me up at the airport. The two of you took my parents and Storm into your home during the hurricane. Thank You! John will be missed by many. You have my heartfelt and deepest sympathy. Sincerely, Dawn McDermott

As our thoughts are on John and Rose this evening, we've been led to read a poem written by Ed's great uncle, Manuel Francis Bettencourt. It goes like this:

Life....
That divine miracle, Life, stirs men
To thoughts of things that are in doubt;
Of when they come and how and when;
And what the plan and which the route.

Not all one sees is understood;
'Tis by degrees our wisdom shows.
Man's life on earth is his childhood;
Through endless Time, his spirit grows.

Of being, Death is not the end,
For life is not of Earth alone.
God planned men's souls in joy to spend
Eternity around his throne.

We love you John,
