To the Long Family,
I have known Bubba all my life. We went all through school together. I remember how Bubba was always around with a laugh and his beautiful smile. All us girls thought he was one of the cutest guys around. I can not ever remember thinking anything but wonderful thoughts of him. I will miss his smile and laughter. My prayers and thought are with you. God bless you and God bless Bubba. I am proud to have been his friend.

Bubba, Laurie, Mistie & Macie became a part of my life back in 1994, as I moved one of my horses to their barn for training. Quickly they became more like family, as we spent many weekends hauling to different horse shows all over the place during a period of about 5 years. Bubba was always there to greet me when I would arrive, and I'll always remember his, "Hey Tee-Rent, what's up?"… While it's been many years since I last saw them, I still have countless memories of the times that we spent together - be it time riding at their place, or at show. One of my favorites is one night Laurie and I were hauling a horse to Texas A&M, well after midnight with a bad case of colic - Bubba was away Judging a Horse Show. The fog was so thick as I was driving, and I was not familiar at all with the roads between their place and College Station, Laurie got Bubba on his cell phone… he talked me through the winding road ahead, helping me find my way to College Station that night. Truly a man that was willing to help the next, no matter what hour, or distance he may have been from us. There is no doubt he loved his family, and his girls meant the World to him. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you during this difficult time - Trent Bailey.

To the friends and family of Bubba Long. I wanted you to know that Bubba touched my life at a young age and I will always remember him.I showed horses with Bubba and Laurie after high school. I was very young paying all my bills on my own. Bubba helped to teach me I can do anything I want to do. I was pretty shy, overweight, and not a very good horserider. Bubba always encouraged me and taught me alot about horses. I still have my mare Lima la Mosa that Bubba trained and I now put my 15 month old baby on her and give her rides around the pasture. Bubba trained her well. She will still give a beautiful headset and do that nice slow lope even when she hasn't been ridden in a year. I just wanted you all to know I really enjoyed the time I knew Bubba. God Bless you all and I will keep you in my prayers. Denise and Lima

Pierced ear ,fast cars, fishing, hunting ,parties, sports, Paul Dean, Conroe Water Tower, dodging The Military School ,Buffalo Texas , and Donny Gay's Bullriding School . Starched jeans a cowboy hat a pair of Tony Lama boots and let’s not forget the chaps . Then 8 seconds on a 5000lb "outta control locomotive" named OSCAR . And let's not forget a lot of guts and prayer . A girl and a whole lot of horses, a husband , a dad , 2 beautiful girls, a provider, a mentor and traveler. A longtime buddy that I will miss. Bubba was always the "Life of the Party". but I know this . He loved his girls, his Mamma and Daddy, his brother Randy , Red Skelton and his dog "Buck". Not to mention all his friends that he shared his short life with , even that stranger he never met . Bubba will be gone but never forgotten . My deepest thoughts and prayer are with you all.

Will see ya ,
Love ya , Lynn ( Jackie ) Trero
Bubba loved Red Skelton and he loved this great land , that we call " The United States of America " so I thought I would include this , " A story told by Red Skelton "

The following words were spoken by the late Red Skelton on his television program as he related the story of his teacher, Mr. Laswell, who felt his students had come to think of the Pledge of Allegiance as merely something to recite in class each day.
Now, more than ever, listen to the meaning of these words.

"I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester
and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you.
If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word?"
me, an individual, a committee of one.
dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.
my love and my devotion.
To the flag
our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever
she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given
her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job!
that means that we have all come together.
individual communities that have united into 48 great states.
Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and
purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to
a common purpose, and that's love for country.
And to the republic
a state in which sovereign power is
invested in representatives chosen by the
people to govern. And government is the people
and it's from the people to the leaders, not from
the leaders to the people.
For which it stands, one nation
one nation, meaning "so
blessed by God"
incapable of being divided.
With liberty
which is freedom -- the right of power to live one's
own life without threats, fear or some sort of
And Justice
the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.
For all
which means, boys and girls, it's as much your
country as it is mine.

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country
and two words have been added to the pledge of Allegiance...
Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said
that is a prayer
and that would be eliminated from schools too?

God Bless America!
