I Miss Marcelle

Marcelle was pretty - but she is more beautiful now

I miss racing our chairs - but now she can fly

I miss her smile - but now she's smiling at Jesus

I miss swimming with her - but now she's a mermaid in heaven

Without her I am blue - but I know she still thinks about me

I loved her very much - but now I love an angel.

You will always be my special buddy, Marcellee!

Love, Markie

My sister's memorial service was beautiful. All of our friends and family (plus more) came to welcome and congratulate Marcelle to a new and more peaceful life. Being a twin sister of Marcelle was more than satisfying. She was a part of me. I always used to read books to Marcelle and she would enjoy it. On Tuesday October 1st, the day of the service, I stood up to say a few words to Marcelle but I couldn't finish. I started crying in the middle of it all. Because Marcelle is an angel now , I would like to finish reading that poem and teach her a little bit more about angels.

Angels Are the bridge between heaven and earth.

Angels Are given to us as guardians.

Angels Are messengers and ministers.Their function is to execute the plan of divine providence, even in earthly things.

Angels Are awesome beings deserving of great respect.

Angels Are ministers of grace.

Angels Are breaths of God.

Angels Are celestial visitants... pure thoughts of God, winged with Truth and Love.

Angels Are divine, they are pure, they are powerful, they are beautiful, they are holy.

Angels Are the glorius inhabitants of those sacred places where there is nothing but light and immortality, joy, tranquility, and peace, forever and ever.

Marcelle, I love you, forever and ever.

My sincere condolences to the Hick's family. I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. I work at TIRR, and was one of the weekend night nurses who helped care for Marcelle. I feel truly blessed to have gotten the opportunity to meet Marcelle. She loved listening to her music, and she always had a smile for me, even when I woke her up during the night to check on her. May God give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.This poem has always been special to me. "SAFELY HOME"

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly

Trod the valley of the shade?

Oh! but Jesus' love illumined

Every dark and fearful glade.

And he came himself to meet me

In that way so hard to tread;

And with Jesus' arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely'

for I love you dearly still;

Try to look beyond Earth's shadows,

Pray to trust our Father's will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idly stand,

Do it now, while life remaineth-

You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come.

May God bless you!

I was so saddened today to hear about Marcelle. I will always remember her bright smile that lit up the classroom whenever anyone spoke to her. She was very precious to me and I will always remember her. My praayers are with your family at this time.

Marcelle's memorial service was a beautiful celebration of her life. She taught us all that worked with her, love, faith and courage. Anna and I bonded as friends in so many more ways because of Marcelle. We admire your family so much for all the respect and kindness you have shared with us. Marcelle will always have a special place in our hearts and our minds.

I am so blessed to have been Marcelle's first teacher. Even though she was just a preschooler,I learned more from her than she could have possibly learned from me. Her ability to light up a room with her smile, her independent spirit, and wonderful sense of humor are memories I will treasure. My heart goes out to Marcelle's family. May you find comfort in knowing that during her short visit on this earth, she touched more hearts than most of us do in a lifetime. I have no doubt that she is soaring with the angels!
