WE WERE SO SORRY TO READ ABOUT THE DEATH OF YOUR FATHER. HE WAS A

Our hearts were heavy when we learned of the loss of our sweet and special friend, Gene. He was always the first to respond whenever I needed Sons of the American Revolution Members to make an appearance at school for an assembly. He was first and foremost, a true gentleman. The first time he came to school for a presentation I walked into the office and there he stood: sports jacket, shirt, tie, slacks...dressed just as though this was the most important task of his day. He stood with pride during the presentation and he answered my students' questons, no matter how trivial. At SAR meetings we always hoped Gene would sit at our table, his conversation was lively, informative and rich with history. I never tired of asking Gene to relate something from the past. During this past year's holiday season we asked Gene to attend a dinner party at our home. Each and every guest delighted having Gene at the table. The room filled with laughter and it set the tone for season. We will always have sweet memories of our dear friend. Good-bye Gene, until we meet again in heaven. With much respect to the Tannery family....you are in our thoughts and certainly our prayers. Your loss is tremendous. Charis and Jim Beal

I have fond memories of Mr. Tannery at First National Bank when my mother worked there as a loan secretary. Her name was Jeannine Harkins. Mr. Tannery was always so nice to me. Then when I grew older, I was friends with Greg. He was a year older than me in school. He got his father's sense of humor and kindness. Now that I am older I have become friends with Greg's wife Kelly. Their daughter, Katelyn and my daughter, Holly dance together. I have loved to see Greg evolve into the great family man that he is....I am privaleged to be your friends. God Bless your father, Gene Tannery. My prayers are with your whole family.
