Tributes Add Your Tribute

I did, indeed, learn beautiful penmanship from Mrs. Traylor in the 1950's at Sam Houston Elementary. I still often receive compliments about my beautiful handwriting....even from my high school students!! Every time I write a T, F, G, or Q correctly in cursive, I think of dear Mrs. Traylor. My father, Roger Parker, also attended school with her in Montgomery and now I realize that Gloria Traylor, a fellow teacher at Conroe High School, was her dear daughter-in-law. I never made the connection. My sympathy to Gloria and the rest of the family. My love.

I attended the Conroe schools when there was only Travis Jr. Hi. and Conroe High...and Sam Houston and Anderson Elementaries. My brothers, Joe Crane, deceased, and Patrick Crane did as well. We all had Mrs. Traylor and are richer for it. She has a treasured spot in my heart!

I am one of the former students of Margaret Traylor. I attended Runyan and Armstrong Elementary schools in the late 60's and early 70's and Mrs. Traylor taught me penmanship. I learned the importance of good penmanship under her tutelage and received penmanship certificates on a regular basis that had been neatly prepared by her. I'm in my 40's now and when folks compliment my handwriting I let them know that I had a teacher named Margaret Traylor.

God's blessings to you at this sad time--
