I was so sorry to hear of your loss.
By: Julie Gonzales Jun 26, 2004
I lost a dear friend this week. Thou we have not seen each other in years we still stayed in contact - by phone, mail, and even e-mails. I can't help but be so thankful for Dorlene. We have so many people that God places into our life for one reason or another. Dorlene has been apart of my life since I was a year old. She helped change the course of my life when I was about 14. I started attending Broadway Church of the Nazarene with her and her family and was there every time the church doors open. I started thinking about if it wasn't for her and T.J. I would of missed out on getting to know some of the most key people in my life. I have made life long friends from that little church on Broadway. Because she brought me to church I attended my first church camp and one evening during Steven Manleys message I truly found the Lord. It was a moment I will never forget. Life has had it's ups and downs for me but I have never forgotten my commitment I made that evening. I wonder sometimes if it wasn't for my sweet neighbors taking on this clumsey teenage girl where I would be now. I still remember her favorite bible verse. Romans 8:28. I know she truely loved the Lord. Paul said, at the end of his life. "Now I know Whom I have believed." Dorlene's faith has now become sight. I will always remember you Dorlene. Love always, Julie Gonzales
