Even though I never met Sarge, our family knew first-hand of his great kindness and compassion. BJ, our love and prayers are with you.

Dear Mama BJ, Please know that you and your family are in our hearts and prayers. We just found out today about Papa Sarge. I was never fortunate to have met Papa Sarge face-to-face, but felt as if I had through the many stories Julie has shared. I know I would have loved him too. Please know that as Steven Curtis Chapman says, "We can cry with hope" because we know that Papa Sarge has gone "Home" for Christmas to celebrate face-to-face with the One who's birth we just celebrated. We will remember you in our prayers. God will be with you. With our Love, Nancy & Mike Petty (Julie & Reggies Army pals from Alaska)

I did not know Sarge but through you I felt like I did.You always spoke of him as a kind,

caring man. Don't you know he is dancing with the Angels or leading the choir. You guys

are in our thoughts and prayers.Love to you...Nancy Ann Sara Benjamin

Maw(BJ) and Paw (Sarge) were blessed by God and blessed others because of it. Now Maw, you will carry on the work here on earth but we know that Paw will be carrying on the desires of the Lord in heaven. Can't wait to meet him in Heaven and rejoice in our Savior with him some day. We love the example he left us and pray we honor God as he did in his earthly life. The angels are singing a little more joyeously these days. Maw we love you and pray for you daily, you and the children/grandchildren. Wendy and Jerry Weston and family

Rae, you are in my thoughts and prayers. There is one comforting thought, Sarge didn't suffer as long as Steve & Karlyn's mom (Nina) did. He is resting peacefully in Jesus' arms. My offer still stands... if you need anything please don't hesitate to email me or call me. Love you, Cheryl

My prayers are with Aunt Raelene and BJ as you lay my sweet Papaw to rest. He is very special to us all. I will forever have special childhood memories of him, especially at Christmas time. He taught me to eat cornbread and milk. He called me his "cotton pickin youngin". He took care of Pam and I after our mom went to be with the Lord. I will love you forever and see you again one day. Lord, I pray for you to comfort the family of your wonderful creation. Let them know that they can join him again one day if they will only know you as their Lord and savior. All they have to do is ask. I pray in your son's Holy name. Amen.

Although I've never met Sarge in person (although we always refer to him as "Paw"), we were always kept up-to-date with he and "Maw's" goings-on through our Christian Foster Parents (CFP) group. I just think he and Maw are such special people, and I do praise God that he is home and has been celebrating Jesus' birth in Jesus' presence. Maw, please know that our family is praying for you and your family during this difficult time. Your strength is to be admired.

Although I never got the privilege of meeting Sarge on earth I feel like he and "Maw" are a part of my family. I look forward to a glorious "family reunion" when I get to heaven's shores. What a privilege it has been to have him and B.J. in my life.

Words cannot explain how I felt when Paw left this earth. I am deeply saddened for Maw's loss. Maw you are in my prayers along with your whole family. I was glad that I had the chance to talk to Paw on a couple of occasions.

Unfortunately I was not lucky enough to meet "Sarge" but I feel like I know him. He sounds like such a wonderful man. His daughter Julie is one of my very best friends! My thoughts and prayers will be with you all as you celebrate his life and find comfort in knowing that he is now in the loving arms of his heavenly Father. I send my love to B.J., Julie, Reggie, Ryan, and Bubba. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Love, Pam, Gordon, Ryan, Eric and Zachary

Daddy/Grandpa, we will deeply miss him. Our family knows he is MUCH BETTER OFF in the arms of Jesus, for he is pain free. Not only is he pain free but is able to walk, and do everything that he could not do a few days ago.

Daddy/Grandpa taught us about love, understanding, and kindness. Daddy/Grandpa adopted our family as his own, and we felt like we were loved and cared about by him. Daddy/Grandpa made several hand-crafted wood items for us, and we have them now to remind us of his love for our family. Our prayers and love will surround B.J. Davis at this time of change. We pray she feels God's loving arms wrapped around her. We know that Daddy/Grandpa/Sarge is there with Jesus, and we feel so very blessed to have known him, and to be loved by him.
