Johnny was one of the best men I have ever known. I knew Johnny for about 17 yrs but really did not get to know the nice, sweet careing person he was untill about 5 yrs ago, then I got to spend Christmas's, Thanksgivings and all the other holidays that you spend with family.. The Gilliams are such a close family and I love everyone of you. My prayers and heart are with you and I love you all.....

My thoughts and prayers are with Pam, Amy, John and Ben in this time of sorrow. In the last 13 years that Amy has been a part of our family. The Gilliams have always made our family feel welcomed within thier lives. The one thing that I can say regarding Johnny is that he was a man of few words - but he LOVED his grandchildren, he never missed a ball game or an event that they had and would give the boys the moon if he could have reached it. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him and loved him.

Johnny Ray, it doesn't seem possible that you could have grandchildren. I taught you in Sunday Night Bible Class - South Park Church of Christ, Beaumont, TX many years ago. I know you were a good husband, father, grandfather and brother because of the love you were given in your early life and your Christian upbringing. My prayers and thoughts go out to Wanda, Glenda and Maridell as well as your wife, children and grandchildren.

In Christian Love,

GILLIAM FAMILY, I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT JOHNNY. I JUST SPOKE WITH HIM RECENTLY AND HE ASKED ME HOW I WAS DOING. HE ALSO ASKED ABOUT MELISSA AND BILLY. IF YOU NEED ANYTHING, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. HE WAS SUCH A NICE MAN. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.

Johnny, when you were born, God gave us the best brother anyone could ask for. I will always wonder why God called you home when you were in the prime of life. He must have had something mighty great in store for you! Even though our lives will never be the same, we know that you are in the palm of His hand. Thank you for so many good memories that we can draw on as long as He allows us to live. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you and give you peace. This is my prayer for you, Pam, Amy and Brandon, John, Ben, Skyler, Seth, Brennen and Bryce.

Johnny,

It's so hard to put into words all the things that I would like to tell you. I know we had rough times growing up, but I wouldn't have traded you as a brother for anything in the world. As we grew older, I could feel a special bond even though few words were ever spoken. You, along with Pam, raised 3 wonderful children and God only knows why He took you from us so soon. I prayed often during the short time you were sick that God would perform a miracle and restore your health, but I also prayed that if that wasn't His will, that he would take you quickly, so that you wouldn't suffer. His answer was not the one I wanted but I know that God has greater plans for you. I pray now that God will comfort Pam, Amy, John and Ben and your grandsons during this time and in years to come. I know now that we all have three guardian angels looking down on us - YOU, MAMA AND DADDY! I love you. Maridell
