Tributes Add Your Tribute
By: Carol Cryar Aug 31, 2005
Miss Fewell was my second grade teacher at Sam Houston Elementary in the early 1960's. She was one of my all-time favorite, and best-loved, teachers! I was fortunate enough to see her around town at various times over the years and speak with her. I will never forget some of the funny things she said & did in the classroom! When we would hear a loud noise in the hall, she always said, "Oops! Someone dropped a set out of their ring!" And of course, we all laughed and laughed! I was in her room when Mr. Rice came on the speaker and told us President Kennedy had been assassinated. She had to explain to us what that meant. I know that was hard for her, but she did it very well... I will miss her smiling face very much. She was loved by many.
