Dear Jackie and Family,

We were so sorry to hear of Jodee's passing. We will keep you and your family in our prayers during this difficult time. We have not seen each other in many years but have thought of you often.

I am sorry to hear of Jodee's passing. I would like to share what little I knew of Jodee years ago.

Jodee worked on my house I built in 1983 and 84. He and a another CHS student, Vincent Gray, worked in the afternoons after school for about two months building a wood deck and installing a wood ceiling in our living room. They were a great help. Jodee was such a likable young man and hard worker, always on time.

After I had finished the house, almost, I called him out and he was able to skinny thru the first floor drop ceiling to pull a electrical wire for my air conditioner, seems I had left it out. It was only about a 12 inch high space between the ceiling and the second floor, he was pretty skinny then and had to crawl through the space for about 30 feet and get it done for us. Saved us from having to tear out the sheetrock. Really appreciated his effort.

Several times I have used that story when talking to local kids in scouting to inspire them to have a positive attitude, that they can do whatever they set their mind to do. When I showed Jodee what I needed done, he didn't think he could get through such a tight space, but he made it there and back, no problem.

We all live our lives and usually never realize how we may touch the lives of others. My memory of Jodee lives on in a simple task that he performed for us, when I walk out on our deck or look up at our ceiling. Years later I heard that Jodee had started his own construction company, I was proud for him. I am in construction myself, and feel that building places where people work and live is a way to touch many lives in a positive way. I am sure Jodee felt the same way.

May God be with your family at this time and help you to bear the loss of a loved one.
