I had the wonderful privilege to be intoduced to Delmar and his sweet wife Delores through my friend Linnette, their daughter. Although I only visited their home a few times they always made me feel welcome and comfortable. I could feel a love in their home and they showed a genuine interest in what was going on in my life. Delmar was always interesting and so very kind. I remember being so impressed when Linnette told me that he had built their home ! When I was a child my aunt used to refer to special people as"the salt of the earth".She said that some day I would meet someone of that caliber and I would understand. I knew when I met Delmar and Delores and their family that they most definitely embody that characteristic.I will miss having Delmar here on earth with us. It is a comfort to know that he is in Heaven now though and no longer suffering. My prayers are with his wonderful family who must be missing him terribly ! And a special prayer for extra strength and comfort goes out to Delores.. with love and sympathy...Susan Martin

Uncle Delmar has a special place in my heart. I always looked forward to his and Aunt Dolores visits. Uncle Delmar had a terrific sense of humor and had a smile for everyone. I am thankful that I had him in my life as a father figure and role model. He is greatly missed. Love ~ Sue Nolan McNeilly

I am so sorry to hear that Del passed away. I have so many fond memories of him- his laugh, his sense of humor, his caring ways, and his love for his family. I especially remember how kind he was to me when my dad was going to have surgery and I thought he would die. I was probably 10 or 11 years old. He reassured me so that the fear went away. He was a great person and will truly be missed by so many people. Joe and I will continue to keep Dee in our prayers.

Del Meyer was an unselfish, hard working, considerate, and kind person. His legacy to the world are the fine children he raised. Marcia, Linnette, and Mark have all succeeded in being fine, considerate, honest, hard working people. Marcia has carried on Del's teachings by raising two wonderful children who have become a doctor and a lawyer. Linnette has done the same raising four wonderful children, one has become an architect, one is working towards being a computer engineer, and one is working towards being a vetenarian. Mark has worked very hard to provide for his family and found it in his heart to adopt two children who will now benefit from Del's teachings as well. The values Del helped instill in his children and grandchildren have much to do with them turning out to be the fine people that they are. No finer tribute could be bestowed on someone than this tribute to Del Meyer. May his pain and suffering be relieved, may he reunite with his grandson Michael, and I know he will continue to guide us all from his place in Heaven.

Delmar was one of the finest men I have ever known. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. His family always came first. He was a good, honest worker and provided for his family even through difficult times. He was like a Father to Mike and Susan too. Mike still can't talk about him without getting all choked up. It was a privilege to have him for a Brother-in-law. We're sure he is up in Heaven having a wonderful time with Michael Del.

For the few years that I knew and did business with Del and Spring ISD, it was always a joy and pleasure. I'm sure that he will be missed here on earth by his family, friends and acquaintances.

I have know Del for 5 years and throughout those years I have always been strengthened and humbled by his unwavering positive attitude and uncanny wit in the face of many challenges to his physical health. I was very fortunate to have spent several hours with him and Dolores just after Thanksgiving. I will cherish those hours and that I was able to be there on that day to take Del to several doctors appointments. It was never difficult or inconvenient to help Del out because he was such a gracious person. I will miss him.
