Funeral services for Dorothy Oglesby, 82, of Willis will be held on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. James Featherstone and Rev. John Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Willis Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 20, 2006 from 3 to 5 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Oglesby was born on September 3, 1923 in Willis, Texas and passed away on August 17, 2006 in Conroe, Texas. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Willis for many years and served God in the choir, Sunday School and Training Union teacher as well as other positions in the Church. She worked for the First State Bank of Willis for 30 years and the City of Willis for 10 years. She met and made many friends through her service to the community of Willis. Dorothy loved to sing, was an avid reader, and loved to write poetry.
Her husband, John G. Oglesby, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Hill and husband John and Karen Arnold, all of Willis; nieces and nephew, close friend and cousin, Margie Klawinsky, and other numerous cousins. The extended Hill family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kacal, Brian Zemlicka, Jason York, Russell Steele, Daryl Newton, and Gene Lamont, Sr. Honorary pallbearers are John Klawinsky and Bill Heath, Jr.
