Funeral services for Wilner Hazelle Coffman Owen, 96, of Katy will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Owen was born on October 16, 1909 in Pittsburg, Texas and passed away on September 7, 2006 in Katy, Texas. She was the eldest of eight children. She graduated from El Dorado Business College in Arkansas. Hazel was a member of the Order of Rebekah Lodge in Ingleside, Texas and a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. She loved to travel and had been to all 50 states in her travels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hollis Owen, to whom she had been married since March 25, 1930. Her daughter, LaNell Owen Massey, and grandson, Owen Daniel Massey, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters, Geraldine Sapp, Franceil Reagan and husband Ferrell, and Bobbie Jean Sapp, all of Conroe; granddaughter, Dani Nell Beckett and husband Archie of Katy; great grandchildren, Sherra Ashley Beckett, Kacie Lynn Beckett, and Cameron Daniel Beckett, all of Katy; and son-in-law, Dan O. Massey and wife Jackie of Rockport, Texas. Numerous other nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends also survive.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Reagan, Bruce Reagan, Keith Reagan, Joe Sapp, Jake Wilkerson, and Cameron Beckett. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Massey, Ferrell Reagan, and Gary Sapp.
