Rite of Committal will follow in Houston National Cemetery at 11:45 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 12, 2006 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mr. Ognosky was born on November 15, 1943 in Brenham, Texas and passed away on October 10, 2006 in Conroe, Texas. John attended school in Chappell Hill, Texas. He served his country in the U. S. Army in Germany where he worked on numerous construction projects and while there made many friends that he retained throughout his life. John was a Master licensed plumber for many years. During his career he worked on the Alaskan pipeline and numerous commercial projects in the Houston area. He was last employed by Gowan, Inc. until he retired in October 2005.
John loved all outdoor activities, whether work or play. He enjoyed his two beloved horses, Skip and Star, and his puppies, Goober and Whiskey. What John seemed to enjoy the most, however, was helping others. During his lifetime, it seemed that he helped everyone that he knew. Like Will Rogers, John never met a person he didn't like.
John's parents, John and Janie Ognosky Sr., and brothers-in-law, Willie Kaminski and Richard Gillis, all preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ognosky; sisters, Dorothy Kainer and husband Alvin, Natalie Kaminski, Frances Gillis, Delores Korenek and husband Jody, Virginia Rabik and husband Jack; sisters-in-law, Albina Kubeczka and husband Raymond, Valare Ann Ognowski and husband Max, Elizabeth Moskal and husband Michael; brother-in-law, Charles Tomczak and wife Ella. Numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Pallbearers will be David Gillis, Glen Gillis, Kenneth Kainer, John Kaminski, Jeff Kubeczka, Michael Ognowski, and Brian Conners.
