A memorial service for Robert Bibb Schrimsher, Jr., 82, of Conroe will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Spring Woodlands Church of Christ with Mr. Lanny Dreesen officiating. Burial will follow in Houston National Cemetery on Veterans Memorial Boulevard at a later date.
Mr. Schrimsher was born on April 3, 1924 in Ozark, Alabama and passed away on November 2, 2006 in Conroe, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII where he was shot down over Berlin, Germany and became a prisoner of war in Stalag 17. He was a life member of the VFW Post #4709 in Conroe, Texas. After more than 30 years of service, he retired from Lone Star Steel Company.
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife of 29 years, Louise Schrimsher. He is survived by his second wife of 29 years, Edd H. Schrimsher of Conroe; daughters, Jeannie Roberts and Doris Golemon and husband Scott, all of Conroe; sons, Bobby Schrimsher of Scottsdale, Arizona and Brantly Minor III of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren include Chris and Lindsay Schrimsher of Scottsdale, Arizona, David Tyler, William, Robert and Doran Golemon, and Tiffany Sanchez and Brantly Minor IV; great grandsons, Ryan M. Tyler and Nicholas G. Sanchez. His grandsons and great grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
