Memorial Services for Barbara Louise Dryden will be held on November 21, 2006 at 6 p.m. at The Ark Family Church in Conroe, Texas. Pastor Alan Clayton will be officiating the memorial service.
Barbara Louise Dryden, 79, was born on May 29, 1927 in Rural Valley, PA and passed away on November 11, 2006 in Conroe after a difficult battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Carmine DeVivi of Butler, PA and mother, Vienna Spera DeVivi of Butler, PA; brother, Alfred DeVivi of Orange, VA; and sisters, Mafalda Bauer of Mars, PA and Leia Franceschini of Orange, VA. She is survived by her husband, Capt. Frank Dryden, Jr.; son, William “Bill” Gregg III of Thibodaux, LA; daughter, Barbara Stone of Conroe; son, Brian Hoffman of Chadford, PA; two grandchildren, William Gregg and wife Christy and Mathew Stone and wife Crystal; four great grandchildren, Seth and Rieleigh Gregg and Jade and Skylar Stone; and numerous other family and friends.
Barbara Dryden was proud to be a resident of Texas. She was a member on Montgomery County Republican Party, Montgomery County Republican Women, Lake Conroe Area Republican Women, Northshore Republican Women, Texas Federation of Republican Women, National Federation of Republican Women and Greater Houston Council. She received the 2004 “Volunteer of the Year” from the Montgomery County Republican Party. Barbara’s enthusiasm and strong work ethics span from volunteering at Montgomery County Republican Headquarters and serving as Phone Bank Chair.
She graduated from the 2000 Montgomery County Sheriff Citizens Academy. She established her own small business “Second Hand Rose” ladies fashions in Spring and worked years in fashion consulting. After retiring, Barbara’s further endeavors included community volunteer, avid reader, gardening, cooking, dancing and listening to music. She had a love for life and being a Christian. Barbara was a volunteer and member of The Ark Family Church in Conroe, Texas.
