Emmitt Dean Walker was born in Willis, Texas on March 3, 1936 and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 29, 2006 surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in the Cashner Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Gene Kendrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 1, 2007 at Cashner Funeral Home.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Hazel Needham Walker; daughters, Brenda Chapin and husband, Dennis, and Carol Baird; son, Ronald Walker and wife, Tran; granddaughters Amberly Chapin, Kara Chapin, Crystal Hamblen and Lane Hamblen; great grandson, Brendan Meadows; brothers, Billy Walker and wife, Dolores, and J.C. Walker and wife, Laura Dell; sisters, Rosalie Biano, Leona Jones and Poodle Meador and husband, Lloyd; with special family members: cocker spaniel – Lady and cat – Sammy. Many extended family members and friends also survive. He was predeceased by his brother, John Miron Walker.
Emmitt was a graduate of Willis High School and a superintendent for many construction firms throughout the area. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and always had an eye and passion for that field. Although he accomplished many wonderful things in his life, his most prized possessions where his beautiful wife and loving family.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Chapin, Michael Moody, II, Chad Breashears, Bill Meador, Jerry McDonald and Scott McDonald.
