Marion English McNeil
October 16, 1930 - February 10, 2007

Marion English NcNeil, born October 16, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas died Saturday, February 10, surrounded by her loving family, minister and caregivers. She was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Since 1968, Marion has valiantly fought many battles against cancer and heart disease.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mildred English, her husband’s parents, Clarence and Melba McNeil, and her brother-in-law, L. A. NcNeil.

Marion is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jerry I. McNeil (Panorama Village); daughter, Melody Tarrillion and her husband Tim (Houston); son, Jerry I. McNeil, Jr. and his wife Ruth (LaPorte); her grandchildren, Jay McNeil and his fiancée Jaimie Doherty (Houston), Joanna McNeil (LaPorte), Marion Tarrillion Graviss and husband Matthew (Arlington, VA), Margot Tarrillion and Madeline Tarrillion (Houston); great grandchild, Connor McNeil (Houston); sister, Millie English (Bellevue, WA); brother, Jack English and his wife Connie (Corpus Christi); sister-in-law, Pat McNeil (Corpus Christi); nieces and nephews, Sue and Ralph Carey, Mike and Julie McNeil, Lorrie and Joe Pierce, and Shawn and Donna English (all of Corpus Christi); great-nieces and nephews; best friend of many years, Joyce Davis; and many, many other friends.

Marion’s capacity to love and give of herself to everyone around her was limitless. She was active in community and Presbyterian Church organizations in Corpus Christi, TX, Lafayette, LA. Richardson, TX, Midland, TX, Refugio, TX, and Panorama Village, TX as she followed Jerry in his job assignments and retirement. In the Conroe area, Marion was active in the Panorama Country Club Ladies Association, several bridge groups, the sewing group at First Presbyterian Church of Conroe and The Assistance League of Montgomery County. Marion was a past chairman of the resale shop sponsored by the Assistance League and served in various positions with that organization.
Next to her family and her God, Marion’s greatest passion was for anything that had to do with fabric. Her artistic creations with wearable art are incredibly beautiful. She mastered every fabric creation genre from couture designs for the women in her life to quilts, smocking and home de'cor creations. Marion’s other loves were bridge (including on the internet), dancing with her husband and lunching with her friends.
