Hurlbert Rowe “Toby” Crispin, 82, of Houston, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday April 26, 2007. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Dr. Charles Walton and Dr. Cliff Herrington officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
Toby was born March 12, 1925, in Hereford, Texas to the late Roy and Mabel Crispin. He married Doris Pruitt on August 20, 1948, in Houston, Texas, and they were married for 53 years until her death in 2001.
Toby was in oilfield sales during most of his work career and with Galveston-Houston Company for almost 25 years. He served during WW II in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theatre and was part of the Philippines liberation.
He was a member of The Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, at the time of his death and had had been a member at various churches in Conroe, Nacogdoches, Wichita Falls, and Odessa.
He is survived by his son, Randy Crispin and wife, Vickie, of Houston; daughters Ronna Crispin of Pasadena, and Denise Crispin Lazenby, and husband, Allen, of Houston; grandchildren, Robb Lazenby, Lauren Crispin, Joel Crispin, Scot Crispin, and Josh Crispin; great-grandchildren, Carly Crispin and Carter Crispin; numerous extended family members and life-long friends.
