John Louis White, 85, of Conroe/The Woodlands, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2007.
Mr. White was born in Kirkland, TX in 1922 to John T. and Minnie Knight White. He had lived in Conroe for 42 years. Mr. White was a veteran of WWII and retired from the Federal Aviation Agency, where he had worked as an Air Traffic Controller for over 20 years. Since his retirement, he had been involved in many community activities including Storytelling Society, Good Sams, the Girl Scouts, the Miracle City Sams camping club. He held various offices in these groups over the years including President. Mr. White was a dedicated golfer.
Mr. White is survived by his daughter Merle White Trammell, his son Robin White and his wife Lynne, his grandson Clint Trammell and his wife Carlotta, his grandson Darrin Trammell and his wife Sheri, his granddaughters Annie and Allison Stobbe, and his great-granddaughter Riley Trammell and great-grandson Clinton Trammell II. Mr. White is the youngest of nine children and is also survived by his 3 sisters, Jewell McCollough, Lois Ihfe, and Polly Prewitt, and his sister-in-law Merle Hulse Hostutler.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 29, 2007 at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe. The Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home with Cliff Herrington officiating. Interment to follow at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to a charity of personal choice in honor of Mr. White.
