Funeral services for Merry Sherylan Anderson Pearson, 51, of Conroe, TX will be held Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Dave Riddle and Rev. Charles Ashby officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery with Cashner funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2002 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm and on Friday, February 8, 2002 from 9:00am to 9:00pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. A gathering of the family and friends will take place immediately following the funeral at a location to be announced.
Sherry was born October 26, 1950 in Beaumont, TX and passed away February 5, 2002 in Conroe, TX following a valiant struggle with cancer. Known as the Storyteller, Sherry will long be remembered by thousands of children and adults in schools, libraries and churches who have delighted in her spirited performance style of energy, humor and wit. Sherry, who was known for her long red hair and sparking green eyes, will also be missed as a poet in the schools, where she has long imparted her love of poetry and storytelling to children all over Texas.
A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, Sherry will be missed by so many. Sherry leaves her loving husband of 29 years, Chet Pearson, and her dear sons, Zachary, 25, Jeffrey, 24, Matthew, 17 and daughter-in-law, Kate in the strong hands of God for comfort and guidance. Sherry furthermore commits her beloved parents, Jim and Mary Anderson; sister, Terry; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Cheryl; nephews, Eric and Sean and nieces, Angela and Chelsea in the loving care of the Heavenly Father.
Two funds have been established to honor Sherrys memory, The Sherry Pearson Ovarian Cancer Research Fund firstname.lastname@example.org, and the S. Pearson Storytelling Fund, with contributions made to the attention of Vicki Christopher, Library Friends of Conroe, 104 I-45 North, Conroe, TX, 77301. Sherry has specifically requested that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in her memory to the Riverpointe Baptist Church Building fund, Attn, Rev. Dane Riddle, PO Box 1425, Conroe, TX, 77305.
