Memorial Services for Wanda Louise Fletcher, 71, of Willis will be held Friday, March 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Dr. Cliff Herrington officiating. A private inurnment will be held later at Houston National Cemetery. Mrs. Fletcher was born July 7, 1930 in Yarrow, Missouri and passed away March 8, 2002 in The Woodlands.
She moved to Port Arthur at an early age. She met her loving husband in 1946. They have been married for 51 years. Her husband joined the Air Force and she followed him to San Antonio, TX, Pleasanton, CA, Biloxi, MS, Tampa, FL, Yokota, Japan, Kadena, Okinawa, Homestead, FL, and Tehran, Iran.<BR><BR>
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known as "Ba Ba" to all her family and friends. She and her husband traveled the U.S. In a fifth wheel for 5 years seeing sights from Niagra Falls, New York to Los Angeles, CA.
Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her parents, George and Delphia Campbell and a brother Wilford Campbell. She is survived by her husband, marvin James Fletcher of Willis, TX; daughters, Jan Ayraud of Conroe, Carol Shimel and husband Lt. Col. Brian Shimel of Clovis, New Mexico; son, Dr. Gayle Fletcher and wife Angela of Conroe; brother, Robert Campbell and wife Dorothy of Port Arthur, sisters, Laura Knowles and husband Johnny of Port Aarthur, Rose Searl of Beaumont; uncle, Charles Steele of Rogers, Ark.; sister-in-law, Wanda Gordon of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Nick Ayraud, Jessica Fletcher, Kristi Ayraud, Matthew Fletcher, William Shimel, Cat Shimel and Philip Shimel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association or the American Liver Association.
