Funeral services for Thomas Bruce Scott, 76, owner of Scott Pharmacy in Downtown Conroe, Medical Center Clinic Pharmacy of Conroe and Bruce Scott Pharmacy in Wharton, TX, will be held Friday, June 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Taylor and Rev. Mike Lindstrom officiating. Entombment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery with Cashner funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, 2002 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Scott was born November 26, 1925 in Caldwell, TX and passed away June 4, 2002 in Conroe, TX. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the Administrative Board and the Board of Trustees. He also served as President on the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Conroe, Cancer Society, Montgomery County Heart Society, Baladine Dance Club, Cotillion Dance Club and the Touch Down Club. He was Past President of the Sam Houston Pharmaceutical Association. He was the Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 1979, Who's Who of the South and Southwest Pharmacy. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Salvation Army, was a board member of Montgomery County Performing Arts Foundation and Conroe City Council, was on the Board of Directors for First National Bank and Chairman of the Board for Montgomery County Airport and on the board of Directors of Panorama Country Club.
Survivors are his loving wife of 52 years, Millie Scott; sons and daughters-in-law, Philip Bruce Scott, II and Linda Cook of Houston, TX and Dr. Jon Eric Scott and Belinda of Houston, TX.
Pallbearers are Dr. William Donahy, Dr. William Hurst, John Wiesner, Clayton Hester, Clayton Prater, Pat George and B.J. Donahy. Honorary pallbearers are Oren Soules, Seth Dorbandt, Ted Hughes, Irvin Valenta, Rigby Owen, Sr., E.Y. Steakley, Dr. Irvin Watson, Russell Law, Dr. Lloyd Dunaway, Dr. Randy martin, Ricky Diaz, Sr., Dr. Mark Wilkerson, Guy Lipe, James Glaspie, C.K. Ray, Gerald Creasie, George Waggoner and Dr. Maurice Thomason.
