Funeral services for Arnold L. McCoy, 93, of Conroe, will be held Friday, August 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Delvin O'Banion officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery with Cashner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2002 from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arnold was born July 17, 1909 in Arkansas and passed away August 27, 2002 in Conroe, TX. He was a member of the Church of God, 7th Day and tried to live an exemplary Christian life for all his family, whom he loved very much. He had a hope of meeting Jesus on that first resurrection day and having a home on the earth made new, as God has promised to those who love and serve the Lord. Arnold loved God's handiwork and worked with growing plants and flowers for over 60 years.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 71 years, Virginia Walton McCoy. Other survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Gladys, John (Mickey) and Verna, and Joel and Teresa; grandchildren, Kathy O'Banion and husband Dennis, Jody McCoy, John McCoy and wife Kathy, Monique Wilson and husband John, Denise Gregory and husband Bob and Jason McCoy; great-grandchildren, Jaclynn O'Banion, Kelsi O'Banion, Kevin O'Banion, Lauren McCoy, Lacey McCoy, Stephen McCoy, Jackson Gregory and Max Wilson; sisters, Ava McCoy and Iza Short both of Arkansas.
