Funeral services for "Pete" Pitre, 69, of Montgomery will be held, 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Monsignor David Kennedy officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel in the Park Mausoleum at Garden Park Cemetery, Conroe, Texas. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2002 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Cashner Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Pitre was born February 13, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas and passed away September 5, 2002 in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by his parents, Evard and Hilda Richard Pitre; brothers, Andrew and Clayton Pitre; and sister, Barbara Jennings. He is survived by his wife, Jewel Pitre of Montgomery; son, Andrew Pitre of The Woodlands; sisters, Romanell Brone of Port Arthur and Katherine Clarke and husband Victor of Tyler; brothers, Garland Pitre of Pasadena, Francis Pitre and wife Lucille of Groves, Richard Pitre and wife Kathryn of Leander and special pal "grand dog" Abby.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the M.D. Anderson Pancreatic Team and especially, Dr's. Robert A. Wolff and Douglas B. Evans and Research Nurse, Pam Dumas.
Pallbearers are Vernon Laiche, Richard Pitre, John Borne, Raymond Pitre, John Laker, and Kasey Dykes.
