Funeral services for Red (Ralph) W. Edwards, 58, of Conroe will be held on Friday, November 15, 2002 at 1 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Terry Bolt officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 14, 2002 from 2 to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Edwards was born on August 11, 1944 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and passed away on November 9, 2002 in Conroe, Texas. He graduated from Burrillville High School, Harrisville, Rhode Island in the Class of 1962. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Navy from February 26, 1963 to December 15, 1967. His father, Jordan Edwards; stepfather, Raymond Tourigny; special cousin, Carolyn Moore Rotando; and special friend Checkers, his beloved Dalmatian, all preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Corlene Edwards of Conroe; mother, Mavis Edwards Tourigny of Gardiner, Maine; sisters, Linda Giles and husband David of Rockport, Maine and Helen Perry of Augusta, Maine; brother, Carl Edwards and wife Tina of Randolph, Maine; loving aunt, Dorothy M. Moore of Pascoag, Rhode Island; lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Ernie Ducharme. A host of other loving extended family members and friends also survive. Pallbearers: Fred Billingsley, Brian Billingsley, Carl Edwards, Ernie Ducharme, Joe Croisant, Ben Westbrook, and Bob LaFreniere.
