Funeral Services for Marjorie Helen York, 79 of Conroe, will be Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Cashner Colonial Chapel, with Entombment to follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery Praying Hands Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday, March 24, 2003 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.

Marjorie Helen York, loving mother and grandmother, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 in Conroe, Texas. Marjorie was born December 18, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio. Marjorie served her country during World War II as a Yeoman 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy. She was stationed at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and it was there that she met her husband of 52 years, U.S. Navy Lieutenant C.D. "Chuck" York. Marjorie had a a great love for children and devoted ten years of her life to Conroe Independent School District as a teacher's aide at Neil Armstrong Elementary School.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, C.D. "Chuck" York, former Superintendent of the Conroe Independent School District. She is survived by one daughter, Daryl Lynn York of Conroe; two sons, Toby York and wife Denise of Spring, Texas and Todd York and wife Janet of Corrigan, Texas; and the "joys of her life" granddaughter, Ashley York of the Woodlands, Texas; and grandsons, Kyle York of Starkville, Mississippi, Matt York and Miles York of Corrigan. The family would like to give special thanks to Viola Wise, Annette Spikes, and all the staff at the Crown of Texas Hospice and Conroe Health Care Center.
