Sharon Louise (Willis) Wilson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2003 after a brief illness at Conroe Regional Hospital, Conroe, Texas. Sharon was born July 11, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio, the only daughter of Fern Louise and Jasper Willis. Sharon grew up in Columbus, married Neal Wilson of Plain City, Ohio in June 1969, and moved to Houston, Texas in 1981 with daughter Becky. Sharon and Neal lived and worked in Houston from 1981 until her retirement in 2000 as Director of Accounts Payable, Harris County Hospital District. Sharon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, where she was active in church and Sunday school activities and was vitally interested in her community and its residents. She was a gregarious, out-going and loving person, possessing a sweet spirit and never met a stranger.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Neal Wilson; daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Louise Swan and husband Kenny of Conroe; granddaughter, Kayla Swan of Conroe; mother, Fern Louise Willis of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Jasper (Bill) Willis, Jr. and wife Susan also of Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Richard Wilson and wife Kathy of Plain City, Ohio, Robert Wilson and wife Carole of Knoxville, TN, Ted Wilson and wife Betty of Phoenix, AZ, Tom Wilson and wife Sue of Plain City, Ohio, Charlie Wilson of Plain City, Ohio, and Hugh Wilson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Jasper Willis of Columbus, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Conroe with Dr. Rick Young officiating. Interment and graveside service will precede the church service at 12:00 p.m. in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2003 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Mission Fund, 2727 N.
