Elsie Milne Campbell, 83, passed away on September 3, 2003 at Conroe Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Campbell was a resident of Lakeview Manor in Willis for many years. She was born in Piqua, Ohio on September 25, 1919, but raised in Elberton, Georgia and as an adult, lived in Anderson, South Carolina until relocation with her family to California during WWII. She and her husband, Duncan Dexter Campbell, relocated to Houston, Texas in 1972 and after his retirement from Shell Oil, to Lakeview Manor in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Henry Melvin Milne and Elizabeth McMurrich Milne, and a sister, Anna Milne Rousey. She is survived by her loving son, Joe Benton Smith and his wife Karen of Willis, TX, grandson, Benton Kelly Smith and his wife Heather of Bellevue, WA, grandson, Jeffrey Taylor Smith and wife Sandra of Houston, TX, as well as a beloved great-granddaughter, Grace Campbell Smith of Bellevue, WA. She also leaves to mourn her loss her dear sister, Jean Milne Eaves of Anderson, SC, her nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2003. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2003 at Garden Park Cemetery, adjacent to the funeral home.
Friends and family are invited for lunch at Mrs. Campbells home in Lakeview Manor following the graveside service.
