Esther Grace Tyler Greenstein, 86, of New Waverly, Texas passed away December 10, 2003.
Esther was born April 4, 1917 in Vinton, Iowa to Ray W. and Blanch F. Tyler. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Waverly. Her husband Nathan S. Greenstein Jr.; her parents; her sister, June Rose Donaho; her brothers, Oliver Tyler and LeRoy Tyler; and her grandsons, Nathan Samuel Mattox and Hugh L. Mattox Jr. all preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, June and Gerald Bevers of Madisonville, Mary Ann and Dick Carson of Houston, and Ruby and Bill Schell of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Beverly Greenstein of New Ulm; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; sisters, LaRue Andrews and Dahlia Rae and Bill Andrews; brother, Tex and Joy Tyler. Numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends also survive.
Esther had a sincere faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, playing the harmonica, singing and praising the Lord. She enjoyed bringing cheer by playing at her Church; several nursing homes and she belonged to several musical groups. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to remember and celebrate her life at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in New Waverly, TX with Rev. Elmer Fulp officiating. Graveside services will be held following the service at Hill Cemetery on Hwy 150, New Waverly, TX.
