Funeral services for Emil H. Gene Iselt, 69, of Willis will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2004, 2 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church where he was a member, with Pastor David Quail and Pastor Ed Keiper officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 6, 2004 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Gene was born on September 14, 1934 in Lee County, Texas and passed away at home with his family on January 5, 2004 after a year long battle with cancer. He retired from the U. S. Post Office after 33 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gene is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Iselt of Willis; son, Randy Iselt and wife Lori; daughter, Vicki Harris and husband Larry; step-daughter, Wendy Mercer and husband Wayne; step-sons, Eddy Thomas and wife Judy, Wesley Thomas and wife Charlotte; sisters, Esterrea Sanders and husband Martin, Diann Schiel and husband Erwin Bud; grandchildren, Christopher Iselt, Misty Smith, Chad Lemay, Kristin and John Morrow, Ryan Lemay, Dustin Thomas, Ley Thomas, Crystal Thomas, David Harris, Amy Harris, Tiffaney and Lupe Vellejo, Jenniffer Ellis, and Michael Trevino; eight great grandchildren. Gene is also survived by other relatives and many friends. Cousins will serve as pallbearers.
