Robert Ernest Ruppert, 77, was born September 27, 1926 in Hoboken, NJ and went home to his Savior, Jesus Christ on January 3, 2004 in Conroe, Texas.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie and is survived by his daughters; Jill S. Perez and husband David of Toms River, NJ and Lauren S. Christoffersen and husband Richard of Willis, sons; Robert S. Ruppert of Conroe and Kim S. Ruppert and wife Mickie of Lancaster, CA, sister; June Mell and husband William of Brick, NJ, sister-in-law; Nola Tidaback of Toms River, NJ, grandchildren; Jason S. Ruppert, Anna S. Ruppert, Justin Ruppert, Kimberlee Ruppert, Lindsay Ruppert, Gabriel Perez and wife Joy, Lydia Perez, Kaleb Christoffersen and Beau Christoffersen, former daughter-in-law; Theresa Ruppert and numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Enlisted in the Army Air Corp at age 18. Served honorably in WWII. Attended and graduated from Upsala College with a B.A. degree and later received his M.B.A. from Rutgers University. Worked for Shell Oil Co. 25 years before retiring in 1980. Along with his wife Connie they owned and operated Fashions by Connie in Conroe for 15 years. During his 30 plus years as a Texan, he volunteered with the Conroe Evening Lions Club, Magnolia Bend Volunteer Fire Department and Willis Lions Club in many capacities. To many he will be remembered as a Character and the life of the party but to his family he will be remembered for impish smile and twinkle in his eye. He was a man of faith and patriotism that will live on in his family.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. in April Sound Church with Rev. Dowen Johnson officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service.
