Mrs. Odom was born on October 10, 1913 to Kenzie Rennie and Clara Adams Eddy in the small East Texas town of Jasper and passed away on January 7, 2004 in Conroe, Texas. In 1937, she got a bookkeeping job in Beaumont, TX and so she moved there. She married Leslie B. Odom on April 12, 1941. It was Easter Sunday, as Sue recalls. They were both very active in the Cashan Grotto. She was an avid bridge player and loved a good game of dominoes. She was a long-standing member in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Beaumont. In 1992, she moved to Conroe to be near her son and his family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Everyone loved Sue.
Sue's parents, husband and all her sisters and brothers preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Leslie Odom and wife Nancy of Conroe; grandchildren, Lisa Sims and husband Mo of The Woodlands, and Drew Wayne Odom of Conroe; great grandchild, Crysta Elizabeth Odom of Conroe. A host of other extended family and friends also survive.
