Funeral services for Harlan Franklin Argo Booda, 81, of Conroe will be held, at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, February 19th, 2004 at Cashner Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Tim Byrd officiating. Entombment will follow in the Praying Hands Mausoleum, in the Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Cashner Funeral Home.
Booda was born in Ringgold, GA on April 19, 1922 and passed away in his home, February 14, 2004, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Presley, George, Bill and Kenneth, two sisters, Mozelle and his twin sister Alethea. Booda is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jimmie Lou, his daughter and son-in-law Marie & Gene Wilcoxson of Conroe, granddaughters, Melissa Wilcoxson Trewhitt & husband Drew, and Rachel Wilcoxson Downs & husband AJ all of Conroe, nephews, George, Danny, Jim and Bill, Jr., nieces, Linda, Patricia and Dorothy and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harlan served in the United States Navy during WWII, on the USS President Adams, which made 8 major invasions. He served his country with great honor and respect.
Booda and his family moved to Conroe in 1972, where they owned and managed The Conroe Drive-In Theatre for many years. He enjoyed living in this community and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Pallbearers: Tim Reeve, Harlan Reeve, AJ Downs, Drew Trewhitt, Julian Dahncke, and Milton Downs. Honorary pallbearers: James Franklin Buddy Argo, George V. Argo, Bill Argo Jr., Clarence Hogan, and Danny Argo.
