Margaret Ann Traylor, 88, was born on December 1, 1915 in Montgomery, Texas and passed away on June 1, 2004 in Conroe, Texas. She lived her entire life in Montgomery and Walker counties. Margaret graduated from Montgomery High School in 1931. She earned both her B.S. and M.A. degrees from Sam Houston State University on her way to becoming a dedicated teacher. She spent 36 years in classrooms and served for many years as the Handwriting Supervisor for the Conroe Independent School District. The penmanship of several generations of Conroeites reflects Mrs. Traylors hard work and the effectiveness of her methods. Her passions included her love for her family, gardening (many of her cuttings still thrive in the yards of friends and neighbors), traveling the country with Billie and finding new rocks and arrowheads in those travels.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billie Traylor of Conroe; son, Bill Traylor Jr. and wife Gloria of Montgomery; grandchildren, Rebecca Jean Dowd and husband Scott of Austin and Jeff Scott Traylor and wife Pam of Denver, Colorado; and four great grandchildren, Travis, Alexandra, Kendall Dowd and Janie Marie Traylor: sister-in-law, Bertie McHaney; and two nephews, Norman and Ray McHaney also survive.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hardy, Bob Hardy, Paul Hardy, Karl Hardy, John Hardy, and F. H. Kidd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Hill Cemetery Association, 1177 Elkins Lake, Huntsville, TX 77340.

Interment will follow in Hill Cemetery, New Waverly, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, June 3, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
