Della Smith Stanford Neal, age 87, passed into another life on July 2, 2004. She was born on December 9, 1916, in Round Timber, Texas, Baylor County to Willie Edgar and Ada Smith Stanford. Della married Johnnie Wilbur Neal, Jr. on May 31, 1933 in Coleman, Texas. Together they had 10 children; Beulah Lee, Johnnie Wilbur, Ervin Charles, Wilma Jo, Ada Mae, James Oliver, Gladys Faye, David Edgar, Shirley Gene, and Sando Alfred; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Della was preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers and sisters; husband, Johnnie Wilbur Neal Jr.; four children; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Della Lola Smith Stanford Neal leaves to mourn, her children and their spouses, Beulah and Keith Baten of Burton, Johnnie and Patsy Neal of Coleman, Shirley and John Glasgow of Conroe, Sando and Janice Neal of Graingerland; daughter, Wilma Joe Marlow of Montgomery; son, James Neal of Conroe; daughter-in-law, Nora Neal of Montgomery; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Della also leaves to mourn sisters, Mary Watson of Coleman, Ada Krakau, Bobbie Robert and brother, Dale Stanford, all of San Antonio.
Della, a devoted, dedicated, multi-talented, hard-working woman, could do anything. She shared her many talents, her generous heart and whatever she had with all those who passed through her life.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 6, 2004 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
