Funeral services for Melba Plagens, 73, of Conroe will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 3 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Dave Schneider officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 7, 2004 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Plagens was born on July 31, 1930 in Joaquin, Texas and passed away on July 5, 2004 in Conroe, Texas. She was an officer of FM Communications for 20 years and she worked as assistant director for the American Cancer Society.
Melba is survived by her husband of 56 years, Louis Plagens of Conroe; daughter, Carolyn Plagens Brown and husband Ron of Conroe; son, Mark Plagens and wife Sharon of Navasota; brothers, Robert Crump, Randall Crump and wife Pat all of Joaquin; grandchildren, Lana Brown of Norman, OK, Joseph Plagens of Mansfield, Jessica Plagens of Houston, Sharrie Gragg Plagens of El Cajon, CA, William Dobbs of Marrero, LA, Benjamin Gilmore of Navasota; great grandchildren, Lillian Galvan of Houston, Tyler and Ethan Dobbs of Marrero, LA, and Tony, Samantha, and Mark Gragg all of El Cajon, CA. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
