Ava Hellard, 77, went to be with her Lord on August 1, 2004 at Conroe Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Ava is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Everett D. Hellard; one daughter, Everyl Getz (Raymond); one son, David (Vicki); nine grandchildren, Doug (Shelly), Tanya Dudley (Joe), Jeff (Missi), Matthew (Andrea), and Trica Salinas (Omar), Sara Hellard, Joshua Hellard, Kara Hellard, and Jonathan Hellard; and ten great grandchildren, Paige, Chase and Seth Getz, Mary Katheryn and Olivia Dudley, Jadyn Getz, Justus Getz, Jarrod, Makaala, and Caleb Salinas.
Ava was born on October 2, 1926 in Kellyville, Oklahoma. She served well as a caring and loving preachers wife for many years. Many remember her for the help she gave them when they visited the Christian Book Shoppes, which she and her husband owned and operated for several years in Conroe and Huntsville. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Houston, an affiliate member of North Point Mission of Conroe, and a member of First Baptist Church Sunday School of Conroe. All will miss her presence.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with her son-in-law, Rev. Raymond Getz, officiating and Rev. Bobby Ferguson, Dr. Cliff Herrington, and Rev. Jarvis Reed assisting. Pallbearers will consist of her grandsons, Doug Getz, Jeff Getz, Matt Getz, Joshua Hellard, Jonathan Hellard, and Omar Salinas. Interment will be in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Ava (Mrs. Hellard by many) was loved dearly by those whose lives she touched.
