Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Cargill, 87, of Willis will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 1 pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in Willis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Shelby Ralston, Bob Van Wassehnova, Barry Johnson, Luther Powell, Nathaniel Lawrence, and Jay Van Wassehnova. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 13, 2004 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Ms. Cargill was born on July 11, 1917 in Willis, Texas and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and loved ones on August 12, 2004. She retired as secretary for the Superintendent of Willis schools after over 40 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Willis and a member or the North Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association.
Dorothy's parents, Ben and Ruth Cargill, and sister, Velma Lee Cissy Callahan, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Jeanette Wilson; nieces, Dianne Ralston and husband Shelby, Carol Van Wassehnova and husband Bob, and Susan Johnson and husband Barry; great nieces and nephews, Laura Brinkley and husband Vernon, Jay and Sara Van Wassehnova, and Lane and Abbie Johnson; special cousin, Sue Ann Powell and husband Luther. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Sibbie Hudson, Kathleen Hurd, Norma Jean Brown,Lorraine Vincent, and Bobby McBride for their loving care.
