September 16, 1927 - August 12, 2004



Funeral services for J.W. “Bill” Bergfield, 76, of Panorama, will be held Monday, August 16, 2004, at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Dr. Don Little and Rev. Bill Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 15, 2004 from 4 to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bergfield was born September 16, 1927 in Austin, TX and passed away August 12, 2004 in Conroe, TX. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conroe. Mr. Bergfield graduated from the University of Texas with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired in 1982 as V.P. of Sales for Maintenance Engineering Corp. Instrument Division and was past president of Instrument Society of America, Houston Section, Past President of Panorama Country Club, Lion of the Year in Panorama Lion’s Club. He was also affiliated with PONY Baseball for the last 30 years as Division Director and Board Member and was currently Secretary of the PONY National Board of Directors. Mr. Bergfield was a veteran of the US Navy having served in WWII.

Survivors: Wife, Marianne Bergfield of Panorama; sons & daughters-in-law, Jeff and Patty Bergfield of The Woodlands and Randy and Nora Bergfield of Double Oak, TX; sister, Marjorie Brown of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Stueart and husband James of Keller, TX, Alan Bergfield of Double Oak, TX, Katie Bergfield of Double Oak, TX, Lauren Bergfield of Austin, TX, Michael Bergfield and Matthew Bergfield of The Woodlands, TX and numerous other relatives and friends.
