Funeral services for Delano Doyle Bud Maynard will be held on Friday, September 10, 2004 at 12 noon in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Tim Maynard officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers: Richard Law, Dennie Smith, and Rick Coulter. Pallbearers: Matthue Smith, Gerald Maynard, James Shropshire, Michael Shropshire, Jim Shropshire, Dewayne Maynard, Frank Maynard, and Donnie Stacks. Visitation is scheduled for September 9, 2004 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
Bud Maynard was born December 4, 1933 in McAlester, Oklahoma. He passed away on September 8, 2004 in Conroe at age 70.
Bud graduated from McAlester High School in 1950. He married his childhood sweetheart, Wynema Roberts, in 1952 and they moved to the Dallas area where he worked for 18 years with Dallas Automotive. He moved his family to Friendswood in 1971. In Friendswood, he coached Pony League baseball for several years. Bud obtained his 32nd Degree Scottish Rite in 1960 and his York Rite Knight Templar in 1972. He worked in the aircraft carburetor business for 46 years. He started Maynard & Maynard Aircraft Carburetor Company in 1972.
Bud loved gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, bowling, country music, and spending time with family and friends. He was truly a wonderful husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle and friend. We cherish his memory now and forever.
Bud is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Wynema Maynard; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickey Lee and Rick Coulter, Lesa and Dennie Smith, Sherry and Richard Law; daughter-in-law, Lisa Maynard; grandchildren, Shawn Lee, Suni Smith, Matthue Smith, Caleb Smith, Drew Maynard, Haley Maynard, Alison Law, and Adam Law; great granddaughter, Emilee Smith; mother, Estelle Maynard; sisters and brothers, Beulah Stacks, Betty and Jim Shropshire, Bob and Francis Maynard, and Dewayne Maynard; sister-in-law, Cuma Painter; brother-in-law, L.D. and Alice Roberts. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Dale Maynard; his father, William Neely Maynard; brothers, Billy Maynard and James Maynard.
