Edith Maye Smith, resident of Virginias Home in Conroe, Texas, died at age 94 on September 19, 2004.
Edith was born in Bremond, Texas, December 11, 1909. She had been a member of St. James Episcopal Church since 1977. Here, she was a member of Daughters of The King and Bible Study Program. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 710 of Conroe. She was a retired Medical Technologist and Registered Nurse.
Edith's husband, Elmer M. Smith and infant daughter, Betty Alice Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Faye White and brother-in-law, George V. White of Panorama Village; niece, Cathy White Brunicardi; two great-nieces, Emily and Tally; and great-nephew, Matthew of Port Aransas, Texas. Additionally, Edith's husbands nephew and his wife, Lem and Donna Smith survive her; and her husbands niece and her husband, Pat and Jack Neel also survive Edith.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, Conroe, Texas on Thursday, September 23, 2004 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Torey Lightcap officiating. There will be a private burial in Southpark Memorial Cemetery, Pearland, Texas at 2 p.m.
