Marisue Truax Bruce, 75, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus on November 21, 2004.
Born to Albert Benjamin Truax and Zenil Marie Caldwell on August 3, 1929 in Drumright, OK. Known to all her friends and family as Sue, she was deeply involved with her childrens journey throughout life. She was a room mother and involved with the PTA, was a den mother, both for the Boy Scouts with her two sons and Girl Scouts with her daughter. Sue was a diligent homemaker who canned fruits and vegetables from her husbands garden. She loved weekly bowling with the gals and enjoyed Bunco night. She was a dedicated member of the Montgomery County Republican Party and worked many elections. She loved traveling to Drumright, OK for alumni activities and seeing old school friends. She enjoyed the yearly Jefferson Chemical Club parties and picnics with her husband. She treasured her church family and was involved with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and many other activities in the church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 24, 2004, from 4 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on November 26, 2004 at First Christian Church in Conroe, TX with interment to follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shane Bruce, Eric Bruce, Alan Bruce, Donny Follett, Brian Allen, and Benjamin Allen.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother and father and two sisters. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack B. Bruce; sons, Gary Bruce and wife Sandy of Clute, TX and Galyn Bruce and wife Leona of Conroe, TX; daughter, Gayle Allen and husband Steve of Beaumont, TX. Other survivors include sisters, Virginia Rhodes of Tulsa, OK, and Beverly Bissell of Hemet, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She adored her nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
