Mack McCoy Standley, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 25, 2004, following a short illness. Born November 11, 1926 in Helmic, Texas to Lee and Narcissus Standley. Mack had been a resident of Oak Ridge North, Texas for the past 26 years.
He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 54 years; his son Kenneth and wife Denise of Nederland, Texas; his son Carey and wife Kathy of Kingsbury, Texas; his daughter Brenda Warden and husband Gary of Katy, Texas; his son Lanny and wife Cynthia of La Porte, Texas; and his son Kevin and wife Carla of Union City, Michigan. He is also survived by 2 brothers, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.
After serving 2 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Mack graduated from Centerville High in Trinity County. He graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1951. After 35 years of service Mack retired from Exxon, but his passion was sharing his faith in Jesus through the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and the Texas Youth Prison Ministry and serving the Lord at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank family and friends for their love and support during this time of need. Burial will take place at Bennett Cemetery in Trinity County on December 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 6565 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands.
