Frances Evelyn Reitz, 91, of Panorama Village, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005. Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005 in Cashner Funeral Home Chapel, Conroe, with Dr. Rick Young officiating. Inurnment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
Frances, known as Fran, was born to George and Ethel Riegle on March 10, 1913, in Arcanum, Ohio and passed away Jan. 2, 2005, in Arlington. She graduated from Otterbein College with a bachelors degree in music and taught music for several years in the Arcanum schools. Fran met Cletus Pete Reitz from Bellevue, Ohio and they married on June 25, 1938. They moved to Bellaire in 1948 and were very active at Bellaire Presbyterian Church. Fran was a member of the church choir and often sang solos with her beautiful soprano voice. Music was always an important part of her life. In 1971, Fran and Pete retired and moved to Panorama Village. They were founding members of the country club and Fran loved playing bridge and golf with her many friends at Panorama. She was awarded her Life Master Achievement in Bridge in 1987. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Conroe. Fran was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and sister. She loved her family and friends dearly. She had a wonderful zest for life and we will miss her very much.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years. Surviving Fran are; daughter and son-in-law, Martha Jo and Tom Trostel of Arlington; son, Jerry Eldon Reitz and partner of Dickinson; sister, Mildred Browder of New Bremen, Ohio; grandchildren, Blake Calhoun, Matt Trostel, Kim Richardson and husband, Jared; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and McKayla Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Conroe Food Bank or First Presbyterian Church of Conroe.
