Daniel Lee Vinyard, 58, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at Conroe Regional Medical Center after a long illness. He was born August 27, 1946 in Alton, Illinois. His father was Daniel F. Vinyard and his mother is Claire Slaton Vinyard. His father served in World War II as a navy pilot and his mother is a retired registered nurse.
Dan was a graduate of Memorial High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelors degree in Industrial Arts from Northeastern State University. He served on a U. S. Naval vessel during the Vietnam War. He was a former home builder in Tulsa, OK before going to work as a licensed boiler inspector for IBM-RE located in Houston, following in the profession of his father and grandfather before him.
Dan is survived by his four daughters, two sons, one step-daughter, and nine grandchildren. They are daughter, April Daniels and her husband John; daughter, Lucy Russell and her husband Sean; daughter, Danielle Morgan and her husband Bob; son, Jeff Vinyard and his wife Veronica; daughter, Abby Vinyard; son, Daniel Scott Vinyard; and step-daughter, Anna Ryan. His grandchildren are Matthew, Lucy, Sydney, Aleiyah, Mason, Brady, Logan, Tanner, and Westin. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Marcia Vinyard of Conroe, TX and his sister, Elizabeth Hathcoat of Tulsa, OK and his mother, Claire Vinyard of Cleveland, OK.
Dan was very proud of his service with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed golf, boating and fishing, and was a member of West Conroe Baptist Church.
Services will be on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Rd., Conroe, TX followed by graveside services in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
