Funeral services for Leslie Les N. Bailey, 79, of Conroe will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Dr. Cliff Herington and Dr. Charles Walton officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, 2005 from 5 to 8 pm at Cashner Funeral Home.
Mr. Bailey was born on April 28, 1925 in Pickton, Texas and passed away on January 23, 2005 in Conroe, Texas. Les served his country during World War II in the U. S. Marine Corp and was the assistant Chaplain of the Marine Corp League of Conroe. He was a Mason for 52 years and a member of Lodge #748 of Conroe. He retired after 32 years from the FMC Corporation - Wellhead Div. and then was a sales representative for the Crown Paper Company of Conroe. He served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Conroe. He also had the joy of serving on the Welcome Committee and was a devoted member of the church choir.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, J. O. and Annie Bailey and daughter, Debbie Bailey Glenz. He is survived by his wife, Sherra Bailey of Conroe; son, Gary Bailey and wife Toni of Conroe; sister, Lynna Wright of Livingston; grandchildren, Lesley Launikitis and husband Rob of Galveston, Benjamin Bailey of Conroe, and Brandon Bailey of Conroe.
Les was blessed with many friends and his 42 group knew the joy of laughter will always be with them. Les will be remembered so much for his beautiful smile and his special love for people.
