Major Arthur (Art) Elting Pratt, U.S. Army Retired of Cut-n-Shoot, Texas passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on April 2, 2005. Mr. Pratt was born on August 15, 1905 in Rock City Falls, New York to his parents, Albert and Florence Baker Pratt.
Art actively served his country with honor from 1939 to 1947 and upon retirement from the Army, served an additional 30 years with the National Guard and Army Reserves.
Art was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Lee Kirk III, and his grandson, Jeffrey LeBreche. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Laura Fern Pratt of Cut-n-Shoot; daughter, Janet LeBreche of Herkimer, New York; sons, Arthur Pratt Jr. and wife Nel of Frankfort, New York, and William A. Pratt and wife Mary of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Laurie Lee Kirk Glameyer and husband Bill of Navasota and special great granddaughter, Jo Hannah Fern Glameyer, Robert LeBreche and wife Mary, Steven LeBreche and wife Mary, Christine Marsden and husband Richard, Ginger Pratt, Vicki Rose, and William Pratt and wife Heather of New York state. Eleven great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends who loved him dearly also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Phillip Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Campagna, Dana Newell, Robert LeBreche, Clif Dalhaus, Barney Allen, and Johnnie Lee Hunter. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, April 5, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
