Funeral services for Virginia Walton McCoy, 93, of Conroe, will be held Thursday, April 28, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Nathan Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery with Cashner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2005, from 3 to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia was born October 12, 1911, in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away April 24, 2005, in Conroe, Texas. She was a member of the Church of God 7th Day and tried to live an exemplary Christian life for all her family, whom she loved very much. She had a hope of meeting Jesus on that first resurrection day and having a home on the earth made new, as God has promised to those who love and serve the Lord. Virginia loved Gods handiwork and worked with growing plants and flowers for over 60 years.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Arnold L. McCoy. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Gladys McCoy, John (Mickey) and Verna McCoy, and Joel and Teresa McCoy; grandchildren, Kathy OBanion and husband Dennis, Jody McCoy, John McCoy and wife Kathy, Monique Wilson and husband John, Denise Gregory and husband Bob, and Jason McCoy and wife Siobhan; great grandchildren, Jaclynn OBanion, Kelsi OBanion, Kevin OBanion, Lauren McCoy, Lacey McCoy, Stephen McCoy, Jackson Gregory, and Max Wilson; sisters-in-law, Ava McCoy and Iza Short, both of Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jody McCoy, John McCoy, Jason McCoy, Dennis OBanion, John Wilson, and Kevin OBanion.
