Funeral services for Duncan Larry McKellar, M.D., 75, of Willis will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jay Paul and Rev. Joyce Paul officiating. Interment will be in Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas on Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 10 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, TX. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Sylvan, Dick Rogers, Jerry Tidmore, Don Riley, Steve Williams, Duffy Williams, and physicians and staff of Sadler Clinic.
Dr. McKellar was born on June 7, 1930 in Jennings, Louisiana and passed away on June 20, 2005 in Willis, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1952 and received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School, Galveston in 1957. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Duncan's daughter, Nita McKellar Bigger, and brother, Malcom McKellar, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Myrl McKellar of Willis; daughters, Susan McKellar Griffith and husband Reggie of Austin and Beth McKellar Wassom and husband Mitchell of Plano; son, Duncan Lawrence McKellar Jr., M.D. and wife Michele of Oakridge, TN; sister, Eleaner Foster of Longview; sister-in-law, Margie McKellar of Longview; and fifteen grandchildren.
